First DTS in Jamaica - Deaf World

Image

Hello, Everyone!

I hope you are all doing well since 2021 has begun. Wow, God has done so much with the pioneering of the DTS here in Jamaica!  It has been a little longer than normal, but it is good to communicate with you! I want to be honest with you that I have been struggling with my time management since the new season of DTS began in early January. I have had a lot of responsibilities as a staff, but at the same time, I need to learn how to keep you updated as my supporters and respond to your messages. I need your prayer for me to receive the Holy Spirit’s help and wisdom with time management. This newsletter will be a short message. Your understanding will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I learned that some of you tried to reach me via Whatsapp and TextFree messages, but unfortunately, my old phone stopped working a month ago.  Good news, I just received a new phone. Please add my new Whatsapp number +1(876) 877-2388.

I decided to make a blog website so you can view all the newsletters that I have posted in the past. Some new supporters don't know my missionary journey with Jesus. Some people can't find the newsletters that they want to remember or share with others. I hope my website will be helpful for you! Here is the link: https://theshiningmoth4christ.blogspot.com/.

God has greatly impacted the students’ lives by getting them out of their comfort zone as they seek Him. I enjoyed watching how they have been really hungry for the truth of God. Not only them, I have also been growing a lot since I became staff. As I have grown a deeper relationship with God, I have noticed God using my spiritual gift of “shepherding” for His beautiful purpose. I have made strong connections with the students. With the Holy Spirit’s guidance, I have been challenging, training, and feeding them to get closer to God and empowering them how to be missionaries. I have seen the importance of humbling myself and being vulnerable before God and others.  Doing that has made the students feel comfortable to get to know me.

An interesting fact I discovered about myself: A few of the same teachers who have taught this present season also shared the same teachings in two years during my DTS. I have noticed that I have been ready to receive all the truth in my heart even more than two years ago. I am much more intentional about how to apply it to my life by going deeper with God. It is amazing to see the beautiful transformation of how God has been working in me.

Finally, I want to share the video testimony with you about how God has transformed my life. Now, I experience His freedom like a moth to the light! I want to warn you,“some content may be triggering for people who have experienced trauma or abuse. This video has mature content, not always suitable for children. My team re-enacts my real-life experiences. We do not celebrate any of the harmful things shown in this video. We celebrate God's ability to change the enemy's plan for evil into good!” For captions in the video that you can click “CC”. Here is the video below.

You can go ahead and share this video with anyone without asking my permission because it is God’s story. I pray that He uses it to change hearts.

Soon, I will write another newsletter with the outreach location and how you can partner with me to go share the gospel! Thank you for keeping me in your prayers. I appreciate your continuous support.

Love in Christ,

Kevlasha Humphrey
