Be a Light to Others

 

 

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

 

Around Christmas time, when I was about 6 or 7 years old, my mom sat down on the floor with a Bible on her lap. She asked my younger sister and me, “What is Christmas all about?” I answered, “Christmas is about getting presents!” My mom said, “No, it is not about presents but about Jesus.” She used sign language to read the Bible to us. At that moment, I did not understand fully. However, it did plant a seed in my heart.

 

I just wanted to share a message with you that I have been reminded of. I am sure many of you have noticed that people tend to be nicer during the Christmas season. Everyday should be Christmas throughout the year. It is a way we can show light to others.

 

 

SCRIPTURE

 

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16

During Christmas, we are reminded of the gift of Christ. We are called to give the gift of love to others. That is why Christmas should be celebrated everyday. Please think about people who go through lonely, grief, or difficult times. I hope this message reminds you to give love in all circumstances, not just around Christmas time.

  Gambia   (West Africa) Hello, Family and Friends! I have great news! God has called me to Gambia. Next year I will be working with two deaf missionaries, Josiah and Elizabeth Smith. They have two beautiful deaf children: an eight-month-old and a two-year-old. I met them at my graduation of disciple training school (DTS) last February. They are self-employed missionaries but partnered with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Gambia. They normally don't have a team but because I obtained God's calling they will. Put Feet to My Faith Greetings!  I hope your summer is off to a good start! As always, thank you for your prayers and support. I really appreciate your encouraging messages! I praise God for everything that He has done for us! I did so well during the Deaf Theology Center (DTC) season in Tennessee! I only have four weeks left to go! God Hears & Answers Prayers

Greetings from Jacksonville, Illinois! I arrived here on the 22nd of August because I had a family emergency, my grandpa was close to death. I wanted to share with you a beautiful testimony about how God and His plan all came together to answer my prayers in the middle of my furlough season after the scripture below.   SCRIPTURE "Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it." John 14:13-14   Sharing Testimony About My  Papa Last Tuesday, August 18, my mom informed me that my grandpa was not doing well, so I prayed, “God, please bring together plans for me to fly from Texas.
