God Hears & Answers Prayers

Greetings from Jacksonville, Illinois!

I arrived here on the 22nd of August because I had a family emergency, my grandpa was close to death. I wanted to share with you a beautiful testimony about how God and His plan all came together to answer my prayers in the middle of my furlough season after the scripture below.

SCRIPTURE

"Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it."

John 14:13-14

Sharing Testimony About My Papa

Last Tuesday, August 18, my mom informed me that my grandpa was not doing well, so I prayed, “God, please bring together plans for me to fly from Texas. Please spare my papa’s life until I can see him. I ask this of you, I trust you. I trust your timing. This is your plan, not mine.” My family relatives have been visiting him. I constantly prayed everyday until when I landed at the airport on Saturday, August 22. I got home that night and prayed that my Papa would continue breathing until the next day. The next day, I went to visit my Papa and I was thanking and praising God that I got to see him one last time. I kneeled in my Papa's bathroom, praised God, thanked Him, and told Him that I was submitting my Papa to Jesus that He could call him home in His timing. After that, I went and spent time with my Papa. I was holding his hand. My parents took the opportunity to leave, get some food, and bring some food for me. I wanted to stay alone with my papa, so they left. I was praying over him and signing songs. I noticed that my papa started breathing very heavily, so I was rubbing him, keeping him comfortable, and still holding his hand. While I comforted him, I asked God to please give him peace and comfort. Then there was a strange moment- where I looked and I noticed that took two very deep breaths, and stopped. I watched him and I wasn’t sure- was this the end of his earthly life? Is he still breathing? So I waited a few minutes and a nurse came looked at him, took his pulse, and told me "Sorry." I asked a nurse to contact my mom and my parents hurried back in the veteran home to enter my papa's room. I told them that he has been passed away. They were shocked and said, “Your Papa waited for you!" God has been answered their prayers for me to see Papa as well.

God really answered our prayers. God held my grandpa on this earth and kept him alive, waiting for me to sit next to him holding his hand until God took him home. I felt so peaceful. It was a beautiful moment to see the hand of God move in this situation, I am so thankful to God for that. In addition, I thank God for using my papa for His purpose to carry the gospel of Christ to the next generations. It was how I received the seed from my Papa to my mom to me. My Papa, a man of God, loved to sing hymns. I remember the great example he was, he always prayed, blessed the meals, and showed his contagious love of others. His funeral was this morning and it was beautiful! I wanted to send an encouraging message to you all: whatever you’re going through, ask God. God hears you and will answer prayer. Many times, I have been kneeling to pray, and I’ve noticed that God answers my prayers continuously, and I praise Him. It’s worth it to move in your faith and trust in God. God will take care of everything you need.

Update

My deaf team and I are still waiting to hear from Jamaica Embassy about my visa application. We should find out soon. My goal is to fly to Jamaica on September 30. I will need your prayer that God helps us with everything that works out in His plan. His plans are the best, so we trust in Him through the process.

The next newsletter would be on September 28. Have a blessed month!

Love in Christ,

Kevlasha
