Faith Without Seeing

Hello Everyone!

I am very excited to inform you that our team plans to go on an outreach trip to the Himalayas in Asia! We leave on April 10th for 2 months. I would like to tell you a little bit of background information on this country. The most prevalent religions there are Hinduism and Buddhism. They also worship many different gods. That’s completely different compared to western culture, and unfortunately most of them don’t know Jesus.

SCRIPTURES

“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”

Psalm 27:14

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

2 Corinthians 5:7

Himalayas Outreach

Some of you may be wondering what we’ve been up to regarding preparing for this outreach trip. Honestly, we don’t have an exact agenda with specifics on what we will bring and do while we are there. God has been planting so many seeds in our team’s path during this time together and we know we can trust in Him wherever He leads us during this journey. Our team's name is “Exodus DTS” which exactly aliens with God’s call for us to be bold and step out in faith on this trip! We really don’t know what is going to happen but we are trusting in Him every step of the way! Faith without seeing! We know our faith will increase and continue to grow even though we might experience struggles and ups and downs during our trip.

We want to bring joy to the Deaf people we meet there and share the good news of Jesus with them. We plan to trek through various villages and try to meet with as many people as possible. Unfortunately, Deaf people tend to be spread out in the rural areas that we will venture out to. That means we will have to continuously trust in God to lead us to the people He wants us to meet and develop relationships with. We will also be spending some time in the bigger cities too interacting with deaf people. During our time abroad, we are not solely seeking out Deaf people but hearing people too so we can share with everyone about who Christ is.  We will be doing plays and activities to help show them who God is and how much He truly loves them!

We are believing for God to show up in a big way during our trip and surprise us! We really want to impact as many people as possible while on our outreach. We are trusting that through our efforts God is going to change so many lives and we look forward to seeing how it all unfolds!

Prayer Requests

Please be praying for us leading up to our trip as well as the two months we are overseas. A few prayer requests I have are that the team continues to be Covid-free and healthy throughout our trip. (Side note: I’ve been here for 9 months and we praise God that no one on our team has been infected or sick-what a blessing!) Also please pray for God’s protection over us as we go and share the gospel and then arrive home safe. Because we will be eating different food than what we are used to and be in a different climate and environment, please pray for our bodies to have a smooth adjustment. We will also be doing a lot of walking so please pray for our endurance as well! Please pray for us to be in touch with the discernment of the Holy Spirit and to be very sensitive and aware of God’s promptings. Lastly, pray for the people there to have open hearts and open minds so that they can be open to the spirit leading them home to Him to form an everlasting relationship.

Mission Supporters

We really appreciate your support and continuous prayers for our team. We are so blessed by your contributions and donations too. Thank you for partnering with us! If you feel called to become my mission sponsor, please let me know. Then I am able to continue my involvement in the Deaf ministry here in Jamaica, so please consider that if you feel like God has put that on your heart. In doing so I can continue spreading the gospel to Deaf people who don’t know Christ so that they too can become His disciples. My passion and love for God only grows stronger when I feel like I am doing what He has called me to do and His purpose for my life by being a DeafBlind missionary. Also, I would like to ask you to consider donating to my outreach trip to the Himalayas to meet some of the needs I have. This summer, I will start focusing on developing my financial support team. If you have any questions or want to discuss further please don’t hesitate to reach out to me before I leave on April 10th. I look forward to seeing what God is going to do in the Himalayas and thank you again for your continued support and prayers!

Love in Christ,

Kevlasha Humphrey
