Put Feet to My Faith

Image
Put Feet to My Faith Greetings!  I hope your summer is off to a good start! As always, thank you for your prayers and support. I really appreciate your encouraging messages! I praise God for everything that He has done for us! I did so well during the Deaf Theology Center (DTC) season in Tennessee! I only have four weeks left to go! I am really looking forward to the DTC ceremony on June 3rd. SCRIPTURE   "I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you." Joshua 1:3 New Ministry in Process I want to share a short update about my new ministry. I had a meeting with some very knowledgeable and experienced people related to establishing new ministries. We discussed cross-culture, vision, and bylaws for my ministry. I know it will take a while  to prepare and develop, but I trust God to make it happen in His perfect timing. I am actively seeing how God places people in each other’s paths to get together for His purpose. I have a...

Jesus Is Alive!!!

JESUS IS ALIVE!   Hello, Brothers and Sisters in Christ!   I want to share an encouraging message with you. My point is for you to think about Jesus’s resurrection. Today, many people believe in false teachings. For example, some people celebrate Jesus’s death, but they don’t believe that He rose again. I might ask someone, “Hey, do you believe in Jesus?” They might say yes, I would say, “me too!” and add “Do you believe that Jesus is God’s son, and died for our sins and rose again?” They might passively agree, but not really know exactly what that means and shrug it off. I want to encourage and remind you as well as myself to be careful and look out for this. We really need to continue to spread and share the true gospel.    SCRIPTURE "I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever!" Revelation 1:18a   Jesus truly is the Son of God, and God created everything. He made the galaxy and everything that lives on the earth. He created the first man...

A Time to Prepare

Image
A Time to Prepare Hello , Everyone!   Thank you to those of you who checked in on me! I know you haven’t received a newsletter update since December. I did so well in school! I learned many new things related to using hands in gestures visually. I had a lot of assignments everyday, but it was so worth it! I look forward to using the tools of what I learned. I have such a strong desire to share the gospel with Deaf people internationally. It was very nice to meet new people and develop friendships with them. My five classmates and I became a great team, and worked well together whenever we needed help with assignments. Two of my classmates are originally...

New Chapter in Tennessee

Image
Greetings from Tennessee!     Dear Brothers and Sisters,   Wow, 2023 is already here! First of all, I received many prayer messages about my precious nephew, Khalil, and I would like to thank you for keeping Khalil on your prayer list. Khalil is still in the intensive care unit hospital. God's work is reaching through nurses and doctors to keep an eye on him with His wisdom. Khalil's health progress is still struggling with breathing due to a lack of oxygen. Maybe he will have another surgery if he continues not to breathe well. I know Khalil is in God's arms, and I trust the love of God takes care of and unabandon him. Again, please keep him in your prayer. Thank you. - Nephew Khalil Thank you for all your support throughout my journey in 2022. All of your prayers and encouragement have truly touched my heart. Some of you even provided a place for me to stay and resources during my travels-thank you!    Looking back in 2022, I have pondered my various struggles...

Urgent Prayer Request - My Newborn Nephew

Image
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,   This is an urgent prayer request for my newborn nephew Khalil who was born with a heart problem on December 14. He's already off to his open heart surgery since at 7:30am this morning. It takes around 8 hours to finish. My dad is in the hospital to support my baby sister and Khalil's dad through this difficult situation. Please pray for them. I have shared some updates with some of my supporters, but now I'd like to share with all of you. I kindly ask you to join and pray. I trust God for taking care of this precious child. Everything is in His hands. Your prayers will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.    Much Love,   Kevlasha Humphrey     Here is my little precious Khalil-

Be a Light to Others

Be a Light to Others     Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!   Around Christmas time, when I was about 6 or 7 years old, my mom sat down on the floor with a Bible on her lap. She asked my younger sister and me, “What is Christmas all about?” I answered, “Christmas is about getting presents!” My mom said, “No, it is not about presents but about Jesus.” She used sign language to read the Bible to us. At that moment, I did not understand fully. However, it did plant a seed in my heart.   I just wanted to share a message with you that I have been reminded of. I am sure many of you have noticed that people tend to be nicer during the Christmas season. Everyday should be Christmas throughout the year. It is a way we can show light to others.     SCRIPTURE   “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let ...

God's Ways Are Higher Than Mine

God's Ways Are Higher Than Mine (Fun adventure with Tyler and Anna in Colorado!)     Greetings from Texas!   There were some surprising plans I didn’t expect to happen last month. On October 21st, I had a good conversation with a missionary family through FB messenger. They asked me to join their upcoming event in West Africa on October 30th. At that moment, I did not have my passport which was still being processed at the Embassy. I also had doubts that this could work out so last minute. I hadn't made a plan, and my funds weren’t secure for this trip yet. I told them I wasn’t able to join, but I felt something strange about the excitement in my heart for this trip. Three days later, I had a Zoom chat with them and they again asked me to come. My heart was going back and forth about this trip, but I tried to ignore the signs. I really thought it was too late and too last minute. I wrestled with an uneasy feeling for several hours that day. I have been reminded in the pas...
