Returned to Jamaica Safely - Thank You!

Image
Greeting from Seattle! Hello, Everyone!   I wanted to share an update from my previous newsletter. Good news, we made our flight and have arrived safely in Jamaica!  We are overwhelmed by God’s unconditional love through you. Thank you for your support in help us get back to Jamaica. I have seen how God has moved through you to work together for His good! God is so faithful!   Scripture “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.” Romans 8:28   I wanted to clarify and reply to some of your responses about suggesting home tests, as for Jamaica's policy, we are required to have an actual printout or electronic results by a certified doctor or medical facility. Some of you were surprised in how we struggled to find a covid test site that was free, we were too. We learned there were differences between reasons for taking a covid test. If we were exposed, there would not be a...

Helping Us Get Back to Jamaica

Greeting from Seattle, Washington! Hello, Everyone!   Veledise, who is my new missionary support service provider (SSP), is here with me and wants to join this message of gratitude. We want to thank you for your prayers and support during our trip here in Seattle. It was such a rich experience! We are so blessed to have had this amazing opportunity. Now we can bring back a variety of resources to teach our YWAM family in Jamaica! I can’t wait to tell you more about everything we learned on our trip! However, right now I need to share something that is critical for the two of us to re-enter Jamaica this Friday, December 10.   Veledise and I have been struggling to find covid tests here in Seattle/Spokane. Recently, stricter rules have been implemented for travelers due to a new covid variant. Right now it is very challenging and expensive for people who are traveling to get access to covid tests. They cost $150-$250 each depending on the available tests for travelers here ...

Strengthen My Faith

Hello, My Family and Friends!   I am excited to share that Dan and Carole, the founders of Deaf World DTS, have asked me to lead the next two Disciple Training School (DTS).  Since I arrived in Jamaica, I have been growing and I expressed my desire to lead DTSs.  They agreed that I have leadership ability and believe in me so asked me to lead the next DTSs.  The last couple months, they have been intentionally discipling me in the details of preparing and leading DTSs.  The upcoming two DTSs are in January 2022 and September 2022. I need your prayers for me to have a humble heart during this time of preparation. That I will have integrity and transparency in spiritual servant leadership. Please also pray for me to embrace and learn through my mistakes, weaknesses, and strengths. I desire to grow my character during this new and exciting challenge, and become more like Christ! I have been meditating on John 3:30, "He must increase, but I must decrease.”   My...

The Fullness of Joy in God

Hola, Mi Familia y Amigas! Hello, My Family and Friends!   Thank you for your prayers regarding my health. I really appreciate all your support! During this time I’ve really experienced many ups and downs. I’ve had some time to think through the challenge of coping with my diagnosis – PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). I have been getting better! I thank God for all the things He’s taught during this unexpected health condition.   Coping with PCOS A while back I visited the gynecologist to discuss my PCOS. I made the tough decision to start using treatment pills. I really feel this is the best approach for my body at this time. It is my goal to improve my lifestyle by implementing a better diet, sticking to my new treatments, and exercising more to maintain good health habits. Making healthier choices, however difficult, will help me thrive throughout my mission in life.     In full transparency, I have been battling as a DeafBlind person with health issues in the mis...

Prayer Request

Hola, Mi Familia y Amigas! Hello, My Family and Friends!   Thank you for your patience as I haven’t sent out a newsletter since June. I went to Mexico for a month and then visited family/friends in the USA. It was so nice seeing some of you when I was in the USA.   Although, I had a good furlough, I've also had some health concerns during the last couple of months. To be honest, I don't always feel comfortable sharing personal health updates with people, but I believe that God wants to use each of you as the body of Christ.  Also, by sharing you can join me in prayer for my health.   Back in July, I started to have lower back pain.  After a few months of on and off pain, I thought it might be something wrong with my muscles. I decided to make an appointment with the chiropractor in the middle of September. I received some treatments, but unfortunately I still was experiencing a lot of pain.   I returned to Jamaica on September 19 still experiencing the pain...

Himalayas Outreach

Hello, Family and Friends!   I feel so good to be back in Jamaica! I am excited to share with you all about how my team and I were doing in the Himalayans. First off, we are all healthy! No one tested positive for Covid during our travels. It was amazing! Praise be to God! Thank you very much for all of your prayers!   Adventures with Jesus in Himalayas Remember... ...a few newsletters ago, I shared about why we chose the topic “Exodus” for our DTS team? Well, it was all related to faith. Remember my short story about the Red Sea? The Israelites left Egypt under Moses leadings. They reached the Red Sea and they thought they were done for because the Pharaoh’s entire army was coming after them and crossing the river was the only way out! They were in great fear! But Moses said don’t be afraid but have faith in the Lord that he will take care of us. Then Moses lifted up his staff and stretched up his hand over the Red Sea, and the sea parted to make a way for them to esca...
